Shop with a Cop 2006 |
The Resident
Resources
Program
ROSE Community Development created the Resident Resources
program in 2001 to support families who live at ROSE
properties with programs for children, referrals to
community resources and ways to get involved to improve
their own housing community. These include: ROSE's
relationship to its tenants includes more making sure the
garbage is collected and the faucets don't leak. We maintain
relationships with support services in the community to help
tenants with emergency food provisions, household items,
vocational training, educational resources, childcare,
job-search support and more.
Partnerships
and Programs
Residents of ROSE rental housing -- especially young
children -- can take advantage of an exciting array of
community programs in Outer Southeast. For example, children
in ROSE housing go back-to-school shopping with Portland
police officers as part of the police bureau's "Shop with a
Cop" program. Residents are also eligible to participate in
Youth$ave, a program that teaches kids how to save and
manage money, and Where I Live, which helps kids take photos
and write stories about their neighborhood.
Community Involvement
Residents at ROSE properties have a say in improving their
community. ROSE's Resident Council meets monthly to plan
educational programs, fun activities, field trips and social
gatherings.
Funding
The Resident Resources Program relies on donations from
individuals and businesses and grants. Your donations help
us augment our affordable housing with a strong and
supportive resource program that is critical to
community-building.
