Child Care

ROSE is part of the Child Care Improvement Project (CCIP) that aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of registered family child care providers. ROSE operates two of the ten networks of child care providers, providing technical support and learning opportunities to improve the quality of care.

The goals of the six-year-old project are to:

  • improve the quality of family child care

  • strengthen small child care businesses

  • increase low-income families' economic stability and access to affordable, quality child care

The project helps providers to ensure that each child receives nurturing, safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate care. Providers participate by attending monthly child and business development workshops, receiving regular house visits, providing customer satisfaction surveys to their clients, and having a yearly assessment done of their child care business and practices. Parents benefit by having quality affordable child care options available as they pursue their careers and education.

The CCIP currently operates ten networks throughout Multnomah and Clackamas Counties, including four culturally specific networks representing Latina, Russian, Vietnamese and Somali providers.

If you are a parent seeking childcare or you are a provider who is interested in joining a network, please contact:
